Five Things About Me...Okay Six

• God and my family are my everything!

• My camera goes everywhere with me! I take a lot of pictures :)

• I’m an avid reader, and my genre of choice? Cozy murder mysteries! I love figuring things out, but I also want the mystery to end well and fall in love with the characters.

• I’m always searching for the cutest coffee shops with the best iced vanilla chai because life is too short to drink boring things...but do know I always have water too.

• I embroider as often as possible and always think I can DIY something. I love a challenge—and yes, my poor husband! Thankfully, it’s something he loves about me.

• I will always be a beige and neutrals girly, but color and patterns are truly giving me a run for my money!

  
  

Truth about me...if I’m honest, I never thought of myself as a creative, especially when it comes to writing and photography. I know, I know—photographers are supposed to blog! But for real, the blank page often feels daunting and sharing my work feels vulnerable. I like things clean, organized, simple, and done right. Think 1 + 1 = 2 or a + b = c—no messiness! That system—some call it perfectionism—worked well for my brain until I became a photographer (I promise this has a point!).

Pursuing my dream opened my eyes to the beauty of light, made me think about where to place people, and allowed me to dream about the final image. So here I am, embracing my inner creative! I’m giving this writing thing a shot and sharing my work because I’m genuinely thankful for the honor of telling your stories and sharing in your life’s seasons. It’s a gift I don’t take lightly!

The Beauty of Photography

Photography is a world I deeply cherish. It opens a window into precious, often holy seasons in a person's life. While I love sessions that commemorate significant moments, my favorite sessions are the ‘just because’ ones! These sessions aren’t perfectly posed. They capture sweet, playful, messy, and holy "in-between" moments.

When I became a photographer, I didn’t realize it, but God was already working on my perfectionistic tendencies. With each session, He opened my heart to embrace the candid, in-between, colorful and sometimes messy moments, revealing their true beauty. This has changed me forever!

Embracing the Messy Moments

Then, in the midst of my photography journey, I became a mom to the most perfect little human ever (some say I’m biased, but I honestly don't care)! God has used this little one to stretch me, open me up, and continue showing me the true beauty in the slowed-down, messy, colorful, and playful in-between moments. These moments feel the most real, offering a precious glimpse into a person's season.

I hope that when you see my work, you see a good and gracious God who gives us the sweetest "in-between" moments. I hope my work helps you to see the beauty of your current season and all the richness that love, joy, and precious bonds of family and relationships bring.
